About Me

I’m Devin Egger. I work on AI and business systems as a product manager, and I got here by way of writing the software first.

I started in 2010 with vanilla PHP, MySQL, and Python, building in-house media applications for a local publishing company. From there I spent years as a front-end developer producing pages and email for national magazines — Better Homes & Gardens, Ladies’ Home Journal, American Baby — where the work was pixel-exact and the deadlines were not negotiable.

In my free time you can either find me outside in the garden with my plants and bees, or spending time with my wife and our son somewhere near the water.

Devin looking off in the future, imagining what he will build next.

At iPoint Technologies in Fort Collins I ran projects and led development across a portfolio of more than 150 client websites, with two to three developers reporting to me. The largest piece of that was a listing platform and a rebuild of seventeen sites — a corporate site, sixteen franchise sites, and four hundred listings — from discovery and user stories through wireframes, build, QA, and training.

I joined Smith Drug Company, a $2B pharmaceutical distributor, as a software developer in 2023. I moved into business analysis in 2024, then product ownership, and into the AI Product Manager role in June 2026. The through-line is the same one that got me the first promotion: I like being the person who can talk to the business about what’s actually broken and then talk to the developers about how it gets built.

Most of what I do now is AI enablement — deciding where AI genuinely accelerates requirements, development, testing, and documentation, and where a person still has to review the work before it goes anywhere. I founded the company’s AI Steering Committee, led vendor evaluations against regulated-pharma constraints, and designed the agentic development process our team works in daily.

Outside of work I run Contour Digital with my partner, a web design and digital agency for local service businesses, and I build AI infrastructure under MellowCamp. Three MCP servers so far, across three unrelated problems, which is roughly how I learn anything.

I hold a B.S. in Management Information Systems and Accounting from Iowa State University, and an Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) from IIBA.
