I spend my days building accessible and user friendly web experiences, whether that be with websites or apps, I revel in making the web a more enjoyable place for its users.
Over the course of my development career, I have had the opportunity to build websites and applications in a variety of different languages and platforms. I got my start coding in 2010 with vanilla PHP and MySQL, as well as Python, building in house media apps for a local publishing company.
From there, I spent some time doing work a front end developer creating pixel perfect pages and emails for some well known publications including Better Homes & Gardens, Ladies’ Home Journal, and American Baby.
In my free time you can either find me outside in the garden with my plants and bees, or spending time with my wife and our two dogs somewhere near the water.
For the majority of my life as a developer I have gravitated toward building custom themes with WordPress either using my own blend of Underscores (_S) and Bootstrap, or the popular Understrap theme.
I have always loved the combination you get with WordPress – having complete control over what you can build, allowing clients the ability to edit their site with a familiar admin, while at the same time having a robust ecosystem of plugins to be able to pull in functionality that you can’t (or would rather not) build yourself.
In the last couple years, I have been turning my focus to building business focused, full featured desktop and mobile apps with Laravel, React, and Vue. I enjoy getting the opportunity to bring a client’s business process together with their vision to build something that isn’t just useful, but allows them to spend more time doing the things they love.
